Multimedia Communications Technology

In today's business environment, the use of multimedia technology to support communications has become a critical factor in organizational success. These technologies include social media, web-based meeting platforms, online training, and live online training (i.e. webinars). EMT Associates has experience and expertise in the use of these technologies

EMT was an early proponent of online training and has several years of experience in the development and deployment of self-paced interactive online training courses. We first cultivated this capability through a Small Business Innovations Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institutes of Health awarded in 2004. Since then, we have completed over 40 online training courses. These courses have been made available through EMT Online University (EOU) and through technical assistance projects for the U.S. Department of Education and other clients. When deployed through a client technical assistance initiative, we typically “brand” the courses so that the courses are presented to the learner as if they are coming directly from the technical assistance project sponsor. Our courses have carefully drafted text, static or animated graphics on every course page, learning reinforcement questions interspersed throughout the course, and proficiency tests to demonstrate learner understanding of the material. Using a learning management system (LMS), EMT supports online course registration, tracking of participant access to the courses, and recording of proficiency test results.

EMT uses LearnLinc technology to support live online training courses and discussion groups. Our trainers can synchronize website navigation, PowerPoint presentations and whiteboard diagrams with a class of learners in a virtual classroom setting. LearnLinc uses telephone conferencing, voice-over IP (VoIP) or a discussion board to communicate between trainer and students.

EMT Live is EMT's videoconferencing capability utilizing iLinc web and videoconferencing.

EMT provides video production, distribution and online hosting. Our video production capability is designed to accommodate clients who require the recording and archiving of conferences and training events for later distribution via the internet or DVD. Our equipment is fully portable, and can be deployed on-site at our client's events. Recorded content can be rapidly edited through our “Direct-to-Disk” recording capabilities which supports editing or content on-site and uploading to our media servers within hours of the recording. Recorded content and training materials can be combined for rapid elearning multimedia software development within a short development timeframe.
